Moldova will join the Agreement on the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuff and on the Special Equipment to be used for such Carriage (ATP), done at Geneva on September 1, 1970.
The approval of the draft aims at improving the storing conditions and the quality of perishable foodstuff during its shipment and namely in international trades. The law in force will not have to be changed and Moldova will not have any financial commitments.
The agreement regulates norms on special carriage for the transport of perishable foodstuff, sets definitions and norms for the special transport, including the authorisation procedure of the transport used for the carriage of perishable food, methods and procedures for measuring and controlling the isothermal conditions and the efficiency of the devices for the transport of perishable food. Also, the document settles the temperature conditions for the carriage of frozen products and other types of products.
The Agreement was drawn up by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in order to comprise the laws on the transport of products in Europe. Joining the Agreement is included in the Moldova-EU Action Plan.
