Moldova will host the Third European Minifootball Championship during September 20-24, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We are very glad to be part of this European project. By organizing this Championship we hope to attract a lot of fans who love football”, Eugen Ciobu, the president of the Moldovan Minifootball Association, told a Tuesday news conference. The Association plans to spend 70,000 euros on the Championship. The games will be played outside the National Opera on a mobile pitch with terraces. The Chisinau City Hall pledged active support in organizing a successful event. “We will offer all the logistical and material support and will employ all the municipal services to create a positive image for Chisinau as a host”, said Vadim Brinzaniuc, the City Hall's PR department head. Moldova earned the right to host the competition after receiving praise for the activity of the Moldovan Federation from the European Minifootball Federation. “While being a young member, Moldova has managed to earn itself a reputation thanks to the dedication of its Minifootball Federation members”, stated Razvan Burleanu, president of the European Minifootball Federation. This year's European Minifootball Championship will bring together 16 countries. Last year Moldova's team won the third place.
