Moldova to get €15.8m lei for fighting tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS

The Republic of Moldova will receive €15.8 million from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria during the next two years. A sum of €7.1 million lei will go to control HIV/AIDS, while €8.7 million lei to control tuberculosis, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, there will be financed the activities included in the national tuberculosis and HIV control program for 2016-2020.

Moldova filed applications to further get grants from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria at the beginning of 2017. Starting with 2003, the Global Fund has provided about US$ 115 million to Moldova to support national programs to prevent and control tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
