The Republic of Moldova was allocated 100,620 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine through the COVAX platform. The vaccine is to be delivered to Moldova by end-June, President Maia Sandu posted on Facebook.

“I’m glad that the representatives of Pfizer responded to our request to be offered access to this vaccine so swiftly. We are grateful to the countries that contribute to the COVAX platform and help us to accelerate the process of vaccinating the citizens,” said President Sandu, being quoted by IPN.

According to Maia Sandu, the vaccine should be administered first of all to medical staff and those from the risk groups and also to teachers, older persons and those with comorbidies. It is inadmissible for some of the persons to be immunized before their turn comes, leaving the doctors and other categories that are exposed to risks in a big danger. The President said she will insist that the responsible institutions should ensure the correct administration of the vaccine so that those who need it the most get it faster.
