A network of chargers for electric vehicles will be launched in Moldova. A draft project on the promotion and development of a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles has been approved, as part of the Memorandum signed between the Energy Efficiency Fund (FEE) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), IPN reports.
“It is an ambitious project, which is worth supporting. We should offer electric vehicle owners the chance to use quality equipment and conditions for traveling within the country,” mentioned Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici during a meeting of the FEE Administration Council, on the eve the Memorandum signing.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the project aims to install chargers for electric vehicles in strategic places, spreading charing points throughout the country. The project seeks to open the pathway for electric vehicle transports between Romania and Ukraine, via Moldova.
UNDP will provide the necessary cooperation framework in the field of energetic efficiency. FEE and UNDP representatives will form a mixed working group tasked with performing a feasibility study and developing a roadmap for the charging equipment.
