Moldova to celebrate Europe Day during a week

Europe Day will be marked in Moldova on May 12-19 by a series of activities. According to a communiqué from the organizers, this day represents an opportunity for the Moldovans to familiarize themselves with the European principles, the cultural variety of the EU member states and the support that the EU offers to Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The day will be officially opened in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau on May 12. There will be held public debates, culinary demonstrations, presentations of EU projects, body-art shows and asphalt drawing contests.
The European Film Festival will take place in Chisinau on May 14-18.
The official opening of the day in Comrat town of Gagauzia will be held on May 19. The program of activities will be similar to the one that will be presented in Chisinau on May 12.
The organizers say the celebration of Europe Day by education and entertainment activities allows everyone to feel European. The EU Delegation to Moldova will make effort to strengthen the unity among Europeans and will bring the European values to Moldova.
The activities are organized by the EU Delegation to Moldova in concert with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the mayors’ offices of Chisinau and Comrat.
Europe Day is officially celebrated on May 9.
