The COVID-19 immunization coordination committee will purchase directly 400,000 doses of CoronaVac vaccine produced by Sinovac after all the contract conditions are agreed. The decision was taken after the Committee examined the offer of this vaccine producer that was the only one that responded to the requests made by the Center for Centralized Public Health Procurement to vaccine producers.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the CoronaVac vaccine was approved in 17 states, including Ukraine. It is administered intramuscularly in two doses at an interval of 28 days and is kept at temperatures of 2-8 degrees Celsius. The health authorities didn’t specify the price at which the vaccine will be bought.
The CoronaVac vaccine produced by Sinovac hasn’t been homologated by the WHO and hasn’t been authorized by the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of Moldova by now.
