The Republic of Moldova switches to summer time. On the night of March 27, clocks will be moved one hour forward and 3am will become 4am.
The time change can cause states of anxiety and tiredness. Psychiatrist of the Mental Hearth Community Center Ana Codreanu has told IPN that many processes in the body depend on the period of the day. Humans need about three days to adjust to this change. It was proven that those who go to sleep after 10pm adjust to summer time with difficulty.
Those who face physical and mental discomfort owing to the time change should go and see a doctor, primarily when they are tired and sleepy and cannot cope with daily activities, stated Ana Codreanu.
New Zealand was the first to switch to summer time, in 1895. Moldova did this first in 1979.
Last February, the European Parliament voted to scrap the twice-a-year custom of changing the clocks by an hour in spring and autumn by 2021, but no final decision has been yet taken.
