Moldova and Sweden have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of defense, which will strengthen the dialogue between the institutions in areas that include training and expertise, among others. The document was signed during a meeting between Moldova’s Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi and the visiting Swedish Minister of Defense Pål Jonson and Minister of Civil Defense Carl-Oskar Bohlin.
Nosatîi highlighted the support of the Swedish government in promoting Moldova’s development objectives, projects and initiatives in the field of defense within international organizations. The minister informed the two officials about the priorities for the modernization of the defense institution, the actions taken, as well as the strategic objectives, with an emphasis on developing the capabilities to fulfill the country’s defense mission, strengthening collaboration with external partners, increasing the contribution to international peace-keeping efforts.
The Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Sweden, Pål Jonson, and the Swedish Minister of Civil Defense, Carl-Oskar Bohlin, came to the Republic of Moldova at the invitation of Minister Anatolie Nosatîi.
