The institutional framework concerning climate change will be created in Moldova by 2018 so as to ensure the efficient implementation of adjustment measures at national, sector and local levels. This is provided in Moldova’s strategy for adjusting to climate change until 2020 that was approved by the Governemnt on October 8, IPN reports.
According to the document, special attention will be paid to the management and dissemination of information about disaster and climate risks. The goal is to at least halve the risks from climate change by 2020 by facilitating the adjustment to climate change in six main sectors: agriculture; water resources; healthcare; forest sector; energy secretor, and transport.
The general objective of the strategy is to strengthen Moldova’s capacities to adjust and respond to the real or potential effects of climate change.
