The national team of Moldova begins a new qualification campaign of the 2016 European Championship in Montenegro. The draw decided that the preliminary group in which Moldova will play will also include Austria, Sweden, Russia, and Liechtenstein.

In Podgorica last year, Moldova achieved its best score in history – a 5-2 victory. After Montenegro, Moldova will play against Austria at home on October 9 and against Russia away on October 12. On November 15, the tricolors will meet Liechtenstein at home.

The first two ranked teams qualify for the final tournament that will be held in France. The team ranked third will compete in playoffs. “The national squad’s objective is to qualify for the final competition. I will motivate the team to fight to fulfill this dream,” Moldova manager Ion Caras stated for IPN.

The European Championship preliminaries close at the end of 2015.
