Moldova starts 2018 Volleyball World Championship qualifying competition with defeat

The national volleyball team of Moldova suffered a defeat in the first match of the 2018 Volleyball Men’s World Championship qualifying competition. Moldova was beaten by Greece 1-3, IPN reports.

Most of the points for Moldova were scored by Mihai Voleanschi – 18. The lineup of the team trained by Artur Romascan included Pavel Cimil, Alexandru Șceglov, Maxim Cojocaru, Igor Didorciuc, Vladimir Stelmah, Marin Lescov, Pavel Mocanu, Sergey Predius, Vasile Talpa, Roman Dudicov, Iurie Pantir and Dumitru Bahov.

On May 24, Moldova plays the Netherlands. During the next three days, Moldova meets Slovakia, Luxemburg, and Austria. The matches are played in the Dutch town Koog aan de Zaan.
