The national football team of Moldova fell two spots in the FIFA world rankings even if it played no match the last month. Currently, Moldova ranks 161st, IPN reports.
Moldova will be able to improve its position in the rankings after this month’s matches. The team trained by Igor Dobrovolski will play a friendly against Israel on June 6, while in five days will play host to Georgia within the qualifying rounds of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Among Moldova’s opponents in the qualifying group, Wales has the best position, 13th. Ireland ranks 26th, Austria – 35th, Serbia – 50th, while Georgia – 122nd. The rankings are topped by Basil, which is followed by Argentina and Germany.
