Moldova slips three more spots in FIFA rankings

The national football team of Moldova slipped three spots to the 159th in the FIFA rankings for this month released on June 2, IPN reports.

On June 3, the team trained by Igor Dobrovolski will play a friendly in Lugano against the similar team of Switzerland, which takes the 15th position in the world rankings. Switzerland is one of the 24 participants in the UEFA EURO 2016. Among Moldova’s opponents in Group D of the qualifying competition of the 2018 World Championship, Austria is placed best – 10th. Wales ranks 26th, Ireland – 33rd, Serbia – 54th, while Georgia – 137th. 

The FIFA rankings are topped by Argentina, which is followed by Belgium and Columbia. The next rankings will be made public on July 14.
