A framework agreement on Moldovan-German cooperation in the field of development was singed in Berlin. The accord will create the preconditions needed for implementing water supply and residual water treatment projects in rural areas, projects to modernize the local public services, to strengthen the public administration capacities and to create quality national infrastructure in metrology and quality control, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Government.
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who signed the document, discussed the bilateral cooperation, the relations between Moldova and the EU and the regional developments.
“This accord will ensure more intense cooperation in the development sector,” stated Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
“The German assistance programs are successfully implemented in different areas of cooperation, including public administration, health, energy efficiency and agriculture,” said the Premier.
Germany keeps Moldova on the list of countries that benefit from assistance provided by the German Government through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The German technical assistance amounts to €39.5 million, while the financial assistance to €98.8 million.
