“The economic processes entwine and the economic independence of a state depends on how efficient and reliable a partner this state is,” said Viorel Chivriga, expert of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul”, when asked to assess Moldova’s economic independence 19 years after the proclamation of Independence, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “All the far-reaching projects in such areas as alternative sources of energy, combating of famine and serious diseases, transport, environment protection and climate change can be now implemented only under partnerships between countries,” he said.
Chivriga said globalization does not mean abandonment of the national values. According to him, Moldova can enrich the general-human values with its own, not only cultural, but also economic, including in ecological agriculture.
Vasile Besliu, manager of the company Polimer Color, considers the Moldovan authorities should take steps to improve the cooperation relations with the commercial partners, especially Russia, as the ban on the import of wine products imposed by the Russian authorities affect not only the wine producers, but also companies working in other fields, including Polimer Color that produces colored glass for the wine industry. He thinks the Government should help the wine and other producers to penetrate the European and other markets by staging promotional campaigns and popularizing the Moldovan products.
Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said some of the most important social and economic reforms have not been implemented at the right time and the living standards are lower than the ones that should be after 19 years of independence. Many people had to go abroad to work. But, according to her, if every person honestly fulfills one’s duties at work, regardless of the post held, and is proud of their country, the social and economic situation will improve.
“We want Moldova to considerably integrate into the European and international economies. Globalization is a normal process. The important thing is that after 19 years of independence, Moldova is a sovereign state that can deal with economic challenges, a state that set the European integration as its major goal,” said Prime Minister Vlad Filat.
