An earthquake with the magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale rocked Moldova at 22.33 on October 15. The quake occurred in the Vrancea Mountains of Romania.
Contacted by IPN, the head of the Experimental Seismology Center of the Institute of Geology and Seismology of Chisinau Ion Ilies said the quake’s center was at a depth of 134 km. The last quakes happened on October 12 and measured 3.2 on the Richter scale.
In the morning of October 6, Moldova was shaken by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale. In the Vrancea Mountains it measured 5.5. The center was at a depth of 140 km. .
