70 Moldovan military men will be off to Moscow tomorrow to participate in the Victory-Day Parade on the Red Square on May 9. The next day after the parade, the Moldovan military men will be awarded distinctions by the Russian Ministry of Defense, announced Col. Iurie Domenic, the commander of the Moldovan National Army, at a briefing today, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The briefing was held immediately after the final rehearsal of the Moldovan troops for the parade. After 6 hours of practice daily, the Moldovan paraders are “90 percent ready”, said Maj. Igor Procop, who was in charge with the rehearsal. Besides marchers, the Moldovan delegation includes 4 reserve troops, a doctor and a superior officer. New uniforms were made for all the delegation members.
Expenses related to quartering, meals and health insurance are covered by the Russian government. The Moldovan troops will carry Russian arms during the parade to avoid customs complications.
The Moldovan military men will participate alongside other paraders in rehearsals on May 5 and 6 on the Red Square. Troops from 10 CIS countries, as well as US, France, Poland and the UK, will march during the Victory-Day Parade in Moscow on May 9.
