The national football team of Moldova ended the 2016 European Championship qualifiers with a new defeat. It was beaten away by Sweden 2-0. Moldova thus finished last in group G with only two points, IPN reports.
Moldova coach Stefan Stoica caused a surprise by the lineup he sent to Solna. This included Potirniche, Burghiu, Vremea and Istrati. “We said that we wanted to see exactly what players Moldova has and on whom we can count in the future. We entered the first half slightly harder, but I’s satisfied with the play during the last 30 minutes. It is yet very hard to struggle with Sweden, which includes valuable players,” Stfan Stoica told a news conference.
The goals for Sweden were scored by Ibrahimovic (24th minute) and Zengin (47th).
On November 17, Moldova plays a friendly against Azerbaijan away.
