Moldova produced a surprise in the first stage of the European Beach Rugby Championships that took place at the Arena of “La Izvor” Park in Chisinau, IPN reports.
The national men’s team surprisingly eliminated the similar squad of Russia from the semifinals by 5-4 and narrowly lost the final to Croatia by 5-6.
The women’s team won bronze after beating Croatia 4-3. Russia ranked first.
