The national Under-16 basketball team of Moldova finished eighth at the FIBA U16 European Championship Division C that was held in Andorra, IPN reports.
Moldova lost the last match 60-65 to Wales, which it managed to defeat in the group phase. Ivan Hmyrov was the top scorer with 17 points. Among other players who scored were Stanislav Kokorev (16 points), Denis Sorocean (13), Eduard Spataru (8), Nichita Fraseniuc (5) and Nichita Lobanov (1).
The competition was won by Armenia, which defeated Gibraltar 88-70 in the final. Azerbaijan ranked third.
