Moldova ranks 125th in FIFA rankings

The national football team of Moldova climbed nine positions in the world country rankings released by the International Football Federation (FIFA) on July 4. It ranks 125th with 256 points, IPN reports.

Last month, Moldova drew at home 1-1 a game of the 2014 World Championship qualifiers against Poland and beat Kyrgyzstan 2-1 in a friendly. The team trained by Ion Caras will play the next friendly match against Andorra at home on August 14.

Among Moldova’s adversaries in the qualification campaign, England ranks the best – 15th. Montenegro and Ukraine share the 28th position, Poland slipped to the 75th position, while San Marino remains last, 207th.

Senegal made a spectacular jump in June, climbing 25 spots to the 74th. The Central African Republic lost 30 positions. Spain continues to hold the lead.
