Moldova qualifies for final of Eurovision Song Contest 2022

The band “Zdob și Zdub” and the orchestra of the Advahov Brothers, who represent Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song “Trenulețul” (“Little Train”), reached the Grand Final. This will take place in Italy’s Turin on May 14, IPN reports.

The other finalists chosen in the first semifinal of May 10 are the representatives of Switzerland, Armenia, Iceland, Lithuania, Portugal, Norway, Greece, Ukraine and the Netherlands.


Contenders from 18 countries will compete in the second semifinal of May 12, namely: Australia, Georgia, Cyprus, Serbia, Finland, Azerbaijan, San Marino, Israel, Malta, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Belgium, North Macedonia, Sweden, Estonia, and Ireland. 

Moldova made its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005, ranking sixth with the song “Grandmamma beats the drum” that was also performed by the band “Zdob și Zdub”.
