Moldova will have an embassy in Japan’s Tokyo, IPN reports, quoting a decision approved by the Government. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman said the presence of an embassy in Tokyo will help realize the potential of the bilateral relations and will ensure a direct dialogue with the Japanese authorities in view of increasing the financial assistance provided directly or by different instruments.
According to the most recent data of the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldova last January-June imported from Japan goods to the value of US$22.8 million and exported goods of US$292,500 to this country.
By July 1, 2014, Japan offered Moldova US$92.8 million in non-reimbursable financial assistance, including through the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
