The “Moldova Noastra” Aliance (AMN) will participate all by itself in the upcoming general local elections. At the same time, according to its leader, Serafim Urecheanu, the party is willingly disposed to ally after the elections with any other party excluding the so-called traitors as PPCD, PSL and PD, Info-Prim Neo reports. Urecheanu told a news conference on Wednesday, March 7 that AMN had already designated 732 candidates for those 898 mayor offices from settlements in Moldova. According to Urecheanu, this is the number of those who stayed after the others “give up of hesitated after being embarrassed by the government and law enforcement bodies”. At the same time AMN is discussing over choosing one of those 7 or 8 worthy persons to run for the mayor of Chisinau, but the party will not make the candidacy public until the election campaign starts. Nevertheless, Urecheanu did not deny he could run for mayor himself, but only in case the Communist Party would field Vladimir Voronin or Vasile Tarlev. The candidates for those 18 settlements within the municipality of Chisinau have already been designated, said the vice-president of Chisinau territorial organization of AMN, Leonid Bujor. At the moment, there are noticed pressures over the mayors from suburbs to make them not to candidate on behalf of AMN, but as representatives of the ruling party or as unaffiliated candidates, concluded Bujor. AMN has announced the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) regarding the violations committed during some TV shows by the presidents of two parties, who urged people to back some particular candidates in elections. The notification sent to CEC makes reference to Iurie Rosca, the leader of PPCD, who called on people in a show on Pro-TV channel, on February 26, to support his party in the polls. On the other hand, according to the notification, the president of the PCRM, Vladimir Voronin, during his appearance at NIT also made “bad publicity to the other parties, urging people to vote for the communists”. The notification was sent to CEC on March 5. According to the legislation, the electoral authority is due to respond within 2 weeks.
