Moldova will send, if necessary, an airplane for Liban in order to evacuate Moldovan citizens from this country, Alexei Caracan, the head of the Visa Department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration declared at a briefing on Monday, July 17. According to the quoted source, all the necessary measures are undertaken in order to evacuate Moldovan citizens from the military actions zone of Israel and Lebanon. The first 2 persons – 2 women and 2 children will leave for Moscow with a special airplane of the Russian Federation, where they will be met by the representatives of the embassy in Moscow. Until now, about 1000 Moldova citizens living in Lebanon addressed to the Consulate in Beirut. 50 of them are ready for the departure, Cracan said. According to him, in this case all consulate services are free of charge. The representative of MFAEI told that due to the situation in Lebanon all the transport companies increased 2 or 3-fold the price for travels. A travel to Beirut-Damask costs USD 400-500. Taking into consideration this situation MFAEI allowed the Consulate in Lebanon to extend the validity of Moldovans’ expired passports in order to urgently repatriate them. The quoted source told that at present there are no Moldovans among the victims of the military actions.
