Moldova's investment attractiveness from ecological perspective will be enhanced if the national business environment favors the formulation, promotion and implementation of projects to increase energy efficiency and the use of renewable sources of energy, Deputy Minister of the Environment Corneliu Marza said in a program on Radio Moldova. Marza announced that an investment fund for financing such projects will be created by the end of this year. Moldova will also have access to this fund. The British company Conning Asset Management Limited is responsible for drawing up the working regulations of the fund that will finance projects worth €3-5 million aimed at attenuating climate change and reducing the greenhouse effect by increasing energy efficiency and using renewable sources of energy. “The national companies, local public authorities and some of the institutions will be able to present projects independently or under public-private partnerships and benefit from financing from this fund,” the deputy minister said. Corneliu Marza also said that a mission of Conning Asset Management Limited had been in Moldova in July and presented its working mechanisms. A number of potential investors from the private sector, the local public administration and banks expressed interest in these projects that combine the economic interests and ecological advantages.
