The public association “Moldova mea” calls on the people not to take part in the protests announced by the Party of Communists for March 16. Moreover members of the association urge the Communist MPs to return to the Parliament’s sittings even if they do not want to take part in the presidential elections, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The association’s head Fiodor Ghelici told a news conference that a Day of Silence, without meetings and protests, should be declared on March 16. He said that Friday is a workday and if the people come to the protests there is a risk that the activity of some companies will be interrupted. Ghelici gave the example of his own company, saying a part of the employees already asked for permission to be absent from work.
“I, as company manager, took a firm decision. We told them that if they do not come to work they will be fired. I’m not against the social march or a certain party, but the politicians do not give us money. We have to work in order to survive,” said Fiodor Ghelici.
He reminded the organizers of the march that the Communist MPs weren’t deprived of seats and must attend the sittings. “If the Communists do not want to vote, they should at least come to the sitting and follow the elections. It’s not right to close the streets as it’s a workday tomorrow,” stated Fiodor Ghelici.
He also said that the people should be patient because a decision is to be taken tomorrow and, regardless of the outcome, the situation should not be worsened. The members of “Moldova mea” are ready to discuss the voting results in a peaceful meeting after the elections, but not on a workday.
Fiodor Ghelici said there is a danger that the protests will degenerate because provocations are being prepared.
The PCRM informed that it will stage a large-scale march involving about 20,000 people on the day of the presidential elections.
