The Pubic Association “Moldova Mea” demands immediately deploying UN peacekeeping forces in Ukraine. In a news conference at IPN, the Association’s head Fiodor Ghelici said that if no prompt and urgent actions are taken, the third world war will come closer to the European door.
“The Ukrainian people are dying in Ukraine. Ukraine became a polygon for destroying the Slavic people. I’m bewildered that the politicians, the international organizations keep silent and take no steps. That’s why we decided to make an appeal to the international organizations, especially the UN, so that they stop this war,” said Fiodor Ghelici, who declares himself of Ukrainian ethnicity.
According to him, Ukraine is now witnessing robberies, thefts and massacres of innocent people. “My people is being killed. I’m convinced that steps are being taken to destroy the Slavic people. Brother is killing brother,” said Fiodor Ghelici, calling on the Ukrainians from Moldova and civil society to join him in his approaches and to demand that peacekeeping forces should be deployed in Ukraine.
“Moldova Mea” member Alexandru Colotovchin said that this war leads to the distraction of a people and to its division. “The people have the right to life and to peace. This war should be stopped. Now Ukraine cannot struggle against its enemy by itself and the only solution is to introduce peacekeeping forces into Ukraine,” he stated.
Member of the Party “Moldova’s Patriots” Maria Boldescu called upon the government to examine history and to draw conclusions so as not to allow the past to repeat. “The situation in Ukraine is becoming worse. We call on the government to take attitude, to protect the people, to obey the basic human rights and to prevent the mistakes of the past from repeating,” she said.
Ukraine has been in a state of civil war for a year. The separatists, supported by Russian insurgents, are fighting against the Ukrainian army.
