The national football squad of Moldova will play the first math of a new qualifying round of the 2015 European Championship on March 22. They will meet Wales at the “Parc Y Scarlets” in Llanelli, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“It is important that we start well this preliminary round. We want to win, especially because we will have an opponent that can be defeated,” Moldova manager Alexandr Kurteyan told a news conference on March 18. “I hope we will choose the correct tactics and the emotions will not prevent the players from showing a good game. A draw away is not a bad result.”
For this match, the coach chose 18 players. Two of them play abroad, namely Catalin Carp (Dinamo Kiev, Ukraine) and Eugen Zasavitski (Bonifacio France).
The youth teams of Moldova and Wales have met twice so far, in 1994 and 1995. Both of the squads scored by a 1-0 victory. In the 2015 European Championship qualifiers, Moldova will also play England, Finland, Lithuania, and San Marino.
