Natalia Barbu with her song “Fight”, Moldova’s entry for the 52nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, was one of the ten performers who reached the final of the prestigious contest following the semi-final that took place in Helsinki on Thursday evening, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Natalita Barbu has amazed the audience gathered in Hartwall Areena in Helsinki by singing her Fight song. Acts from nine other countries also qualified for the final: Serbia, Belarus, Macedonia, Slovenia, Hungary, Georgia, Latvia, Bulgaria and Turkey.
The final, which will be broadcast this Saturday, will feature the four founding countries – Germany, Spain, France and Britain – plus the Top 10 finishers from 2006 and the top six countries from the semi-final.
The BBC News website invited a panel of Eurovision Song Contest experts to listen to this year's entries and cast their votes for the songs they think will succeed in Helsinki. Germany's entry by Roger Cicero collected the most votes, followed by Switzerland and Serbia.
The 52nd edition of Eurovision is held in Helsinki, as the last year the contest was won by Finland, with the song “Hard Rock Hallelujah" by Lordi, a heavy-metal group whose members disguised as monsters.
