The national football team of Moldova was beaten the second time by Greece’s team in the UEFA Nations League. As in Athens, Moldova lost by 0-2, IPN reports.
This time, both of the goals against Moldova were scored in the first half. Konstantinos Fortounis opened the score in the 32nd minute, while Anastasios Bakasetas doubled the advantage in the 41st minute. New entrant Iaser Țurcan missed the only clear chance of scoring for Moldova in the 80th minute.
“In the first half, the players were unconfident. A lot of energy was spent in the previous match against Russia. The two changes made after the break helped to improve the game. I’m satisfied with the second half,” said Moldova manager Engin Firat.
Engin Firat used the following players: Namashko, Reabchuk, Armaș (c), Posmac, Ioniță (Boiciuc 83), Cebotaru (Epureanu 46), Cociuc (Caimacov 46), Damașcan (Dros 71), Jardan, Spătaru, Rață (Țurcan 62)
Moldova has one point, by one fewer than Kosovo. The two teams meet in Pristina on November 18. If Moldova does not score a victory, it will be relegated to League D of the UEFA Nations League.
