The Republic of Moldova recently joined the 150th International Labor Organization Convention regarding labor administration, adopted in Geneva on June 26, 1978.
According to the Law on ratifying the Convention, the responsibilities of implementing this convention lay on the Ministry of Economy and Commerce. Meanwhile the Ministry of International Affairs and European Integration will prepare and issue convention’s ratification instrument to the depositary country.
At the request of Info-Prim Neo, the national correspondent of OIM, Ala Lipciu, has stated that the Republic of Moldova has a labor administration system with a similar structure to that from the convention. Yet the efficiency of this system depends on the availability of human and financial resources that would aid the execution of distributed tasks and obligations. As a result of Moldova joining the convention, the Government of the Republic of Moldova along with its social partners intends to make up an action plan in order to enhance the labor administration system, to promote more coherent and clear work reports, hygiene and security at the work place, the implementation of salary politics etc.
Moreover, the cited source also stated that the authorities that make up the labor administration system will take part in the development, administration, coordination and review of the national policies of employment. In the case of potential work conflicts, these means will assure the proper mediation.
The labor administration system is made up of such authorities as the Labor Inspection, Public Employment service etc., responsible for maintaining efficient work reports.
