On the 26th anniversary of the declaration of independence, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova do not enjoy sufficient protection from justice and the way in which the state functions didn’t meet the expectations, said invitees of the talk show “Emphasis on today” produced by TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

According to the director of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul” Igor Munteanu, the blame for such a situation is most probably borne not only by the system, as they used to believe, because the system consist of people who take decisions.

Igor Munteanu said that during 26 years Moldova had periods of growth of social optimism and of sudden declines in hopes. “But we every time had people who called on the citizens to take the fate in their hands and to make a jump on this spiral of evolution,” he stated, noting that the despair and migration of people are the most serious dangers in the current situation.

Journalist Vlad Turcanu said the Republic of Moldova during the independence years took a step forward and two backward. “The Republic of Moldova rather showed that it is ready to stage restoration rather than a revolution,” he stated.

According to the journalist, currently the people, especially the young ones, leave the county in order to earn higher incomes, but to also enjoy a more favorable social atmosphere.
