Moldova is the only Eastern Partnership country that has a chapter centering on children’s rights in the Association Agreement with the European Union. In a meeting with Head of Parliament Igor Corman, UNICEF Representative Nune Mangasaryan said that Moldova’s example should be promoted not only in the EaP countries, but also in the EU member states, IPN reports.
Igor Corman said that Parliament will continue to devote special attention to the improvement of the legal framework on child protection. The authorities are obliged to give priority to this issue, including in the process of agreeing the Association Agenda with the EU, it is said in a communiqué from the legislative body.
