Moldova interested in diversifying cooperation with EU

Moldova is interested in diversifying the cooperation with the European Union in the area of transport so as to establish connections with the main European transport roads and a structured dialogue with the EU in social politics. Such a position was expressed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman in a meeting of high-ranking officials from countries neighboring the EU held in Brussels on July 14, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Moldovan delegation pleaded for the swift launch of programs concerning agricultural and rural development, facilitation and attraction of investments. Natalia Gherman stressed the importance that Moldova devotes to the new opportunities provided by the reviewed European Neighborhood Policy as regards the extension of sector cooperation with the EU and strengthening of the political dialogue with the EU. The event was organized by the European Commission in order to consider methods of implementing the new European Neighborhood Policy. Commissioner Stefan Fule and Executive Director for the Western Balkans and Eastern Neighborhood Miroslav Lajcak chaired the meeting on behalf of the EU. The Moldovan delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Neighborhood Policy Natalia Gherman.
