Moldova is confirming its commitment to the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and is hoping that the dialogue conducted under the auspices of the OSCE on the European security will contribute to the solving of certain challenges and concrete risks of the Transnistrian conflict, stated Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov in his speech before the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a press release from the Reintegration Bureau it is said that Victor Osipov stressed that Chisinau's efforts are concentrated on the development of regular contacts with Tiraspol at the level of political representatives, as well as within the confidence-building working groups created in various areas. The main goal is to provide assistance to the people and businesses in the region, including through international projects and programs. The Deputy Prime Minister also pleaded for the resumption of five-plus-two talks as soon as possible. At the same time, Victor Osipov mentioned the dialogue held under the aegis of the OSCE on the future of the European security within the Corfu Process, considering that the discussions ought to take a practical form and be focused on finding answers to the real challenges and risks in this area. “Moldova places much hope in the informal ministerial meeting scheduled for July”, said Victor Osipov. “We expect, first of all, substantial discussions on matters that concern us, like conflict and crisis management, armament control and the strengthening of the European security system”. The Permanent Council is one of the main regular decision-making bodies of the OSCE, which assembles weekly in Vienna to discuss the latest developments in the OSCE space and make relevant decisions.
