There is one legitimate Government in Moldova, and this is the one elected by Parliament on June 8, as recognized by a number of Western governments as well as Russia, says
Kálmán Mizsei, former Special Representative of the European Union to Moldova.

“Clearly the time for choosing the Government did not expire, for two reasons. One, the Constitution of Moldova speaks about three months after the elections, and not 90 days. The Constitutional Court, which is in the backpocket of the usurpers, has arbitrarily misinterpreted this provision. But also clearly the Constitution says that the President of the country may dissolve Parliament after three months, meaning he doesn’t have to”, Kálmán Mizsei told an interview with RFE/RL Moldovan Service.

Thefore, Kálmán Mizsei argues, the decision to form the Government was legitimate and constitutionally correct. The European Union, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, the government of Russia, of the United States, many Eruopean countries together and individually recognized that Moldova has a legitimate Government led by the Prime Minister Maia Sandu”, he noted.

In his opinion, the European Union can and will offer financial assistance to Moldova, including for a quick economic recovery, once democratic order has been restored.

Kálmán Mizsei doesn’t think the new Government intends to follow a federalization plan and definitely not something like the Kozak Memorandum. According to him, the new Government is not one of Igor Dodon, but rather a coalition government formed of different parties. Also, Igor Dodon is not the prime minister or the foreign affairs minister and Kálmán Mizsei is certain there will be a balanced approach in this respect.
