Moldova has 180 official millionaires

As many as 180 persons last year earned incomes of over 1 million lei, as against 175 persons a year before, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the State Main Tax Inspectorate.
The Inspectorate’s head Nicolae Platon said the highest income declared by a person is 8 million lei, in contrast to 6 million lei in 2010. The average age of the millionaires is 45 years. The youngest millionaire is 23, while the oldest one – 86. 26.76% of the 180 millionaires are women.
The total incomes declared by the millionaires were 358 million lei, 36% of which represent salary incomes. The rest are incomes from provided services, from capital rises, from investments made abroad, from leasing out facilities as well as interest and dividends. The income tax paid by the millionaires for last year came to 36.79 million lei.
