The Republic of Moldova has improved its position in the Global Competitiveness Report 2017-2018 that was published recently by the World Economic Forum. The country climbed 11 spots to the 89h (up from the 100th) among the 137 countries included in the rankings, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, such a development is mainly due to the improvement of the macroeconomic situation and the components related to the quality of the work of state institutions, efficiency of public policies and the regulatory framework.
The Global Competitiveness Report is compiled based on a general score consisting of 12 components that include 114 indicators calculated according to statistics, other international indicators and data estimated based on a poll that is annually conducted among members of the business community. A number of 132 managers of Moldovan companies have been questioned this year.
