Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine will have a common position at the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Summit that will take place in Riga on May 21-22. The common stance was presented in a news conference after a trilateral meeting in Tbilisi, which involved Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iulian Groza, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Gigi Gigiadze and that of Ukraine Olena Zerkal, IPN reports.

According to a communique of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the three states that signed the Association Agreement with the EU aim to promote the recognition of the European perspective and the common interests that derive from the status of associate of the EU as well as broader support for the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, increased access to the funds intended for the EU programs and agencies and the more active involvement of the EU in resolving the conflicts in the EaP area, the integration into the energy market and connection to the EU’s transport systems.

The sides agreed to list the priorities based on the principle of differentiation and the more for more principle so that the commitments undertaken by the three states and their determination to implement difficult reforms are reflected in the EU’s strategic position on the Eastern Partnership.

The Riga Summit will be the fourth EaP Summit.
