Moldova finishes fourth at FIBA U18 European Championship

The national Under 18 basketball team of Moldova lost to the similar squad of Malta 61-68 in the small final of the FIBA U18 European Championship, Division C. Moldova ranked fourth out of eight teams, IPN reports.

Victor Legosin and Vadim Bychkov scored by 20 points each in the small final. Among the scorers were also Grubii, Popovschii, Duminica and Raducan. Moldova was also beaten by Malta in the group stage, where Oleg Pravdiuc’s team won against Gibraltar and San Marino.

In the semifinals, Moldova was demolished by Norway 49-108. Norway won the competition after defeating the host Cyprus 84-53.
