Moldova failed to qualify for Eurovision's final

Moldova's representative, Geta Burlacu, has failed to qualify for the final of Eurovision-2008. Her song “A century of love” did not get the sifficient number of televotes. The first semi-final of the contest took place on Tuesday, May 20, in Belgrade, Serbia, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Out of those 19 participants the qualification for the final was secured by the representatives of Greece, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, Russia, Israel, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Poland and Norway. The second semi-final will take place on May 22, when other ten states will be chosen. Together with the participants selected in the contests, the representatives of the financing states Britain, France, Germany, Spain and the hosting country, Serbia, will compete.
Eurovision's 53rd edition has been joined by singers from 43 countries. The final will take place on May 24.
Moldova participates in Eurovision for the fourth time. The debut was made in 2005 when the band Zdob si Zdub arrived the sixth. In 2006, in Athens, Moldova was represented by Arsenium and Natalia Gordienco getting the 20th place. In 2007, Natalia Barbu got the 10th with the song “Fight”.
