Moldova, EU open consultations on Common Security and Defense Policy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration has announced that the consultations on the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) with the European Union have started. The designing of a framework for Moldova’s participation in this policy is a priority included in the Government’s work program for 2011-2014, Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldova’s delegation to the negotiations is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman, while the EU delegation by Timothy Clarke, the Head of the Partnership and Agreements Policy Division of the European External Action Service. According to a communiqué from the Ministry, while in Chisinau the EU delegation will have a series of meetings at the Defense Ministry, the parliamentary commission on external relations and European integration and with representatives of civil society and experts in the field.
