Moldova enters Eco-Energetica Week

Moldova enters the Eco-Energetica Week that includes events that promote energy efficiency and renewable energy. The program will end with the Gala Moldova Eco-Energetica and the ceremony to award the best projects in the field, IPN reports.

Director of the Energy Efficiency Agency Mihail Stratan said the motto of this year’s edition is “Safe, clean energy at accessible prices”. He expressed his conviction that there are many promoters of this idea and this fact will be confirmed by this weekend. By staging the planned events, they aim to support the most important initiatives to produce, transmit, distribute and efficiently consume energy, to implement, develop and promote modern technologies.

A forum entitled “Bioenergy – 2016: To local energy autonomy” will be staged on November 29. The participants will be able to study Western states’ experience of using biogas production technologies and the results of the assessment of Moldova’s biogas potential. They will also discuss the use of solid municipal waste for producing energy and the opportunity of producing and using synthesis gas in our country.

On November 30, the program will continue with the Fair of Eco Responsible Ideas where project ideas that applied to compete in the Moldova Eco Energetica 2016 contest, the Eco Responsible Ideas nomination, and passed the selection stages be presented to potential sponsors.

On December 1, there will be held the investment workshop “Financial instruments in support of sustainable development” where representatives of the central public authorities will familiarize the public with instruments for supporting and promoting energy efficiency and renewable sources of energy from the perspective of Moldova’s legal framework. The Government of Sweden and UNDP Moldova will present the portfolio of projects proposed for the immediate period.

In the Gala Moldova Eco Energetica of December 2, trophies will be given to winners in the following categories: Solar Energy; Geothermal Energy; Bioenergy; Energy Efficiency; Best Communication Initiative; Best Youth Initiative; Best Education Initiative, and Eco-Responsible Technologies.

The events, held in pavilion No. 1 of the exhibitions center “Moldexpo”, are organized by the Energy Efficiency Agency under the aegis of the Ministry of Economy and on the initiative of the EU-UNDP Moldova Energy and Biomass Project.
