The national football team of Moldova tied 2-2 the home match against the national squad of Georgia of the qualifying competition of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Though Moldova was leading 2-0 after Radu Gansari and Alexandru Dedov scored, it failed to win a victory, IPN reports.
Substitutes Giorgi Merebashvili and Valery Kazaishvili scored for Georgia at an interval of only 5 minutes.
As a result of this match, Moldova scored the second point in the preliminary group, but continues to rank last.
“We always concede in the second half. The club coaches should pay attention to this aspect,” Moldova manager Igor Dobrovolski told a news conference.
Before the game, Victor Golovatenko enjoyed a special event. In the presence of former national team mates, the fullback was presented with a personalized T-shirt of the squad. Recently, Golovatenko withdrew from the national team after paying for this for 14 years.
