The Secretary General of the United Nations notified the member states about the fact that Moldova deposited the instrument of accession to the European Agreement that was signed in Geneva on May 1, 1971, IPN reports.
The European Agreement supplements the Convention on Road Traffic that was opened for signature in Vienna on November 8, 1968. Simultaneously, Moldova submitted the instrument of accession to the Protocol on Road Markings of March 1, 1973, additional to the European Agreement.
Under Article 4, paragraph (2) of the aforementioned Accord and Protocol, these will take effect for Moldova 12 months after the instruments of accession are deposited with the Secretary General of the United Nations, on October 27, 2016.
