The national football team of Moldova suffered a 0-2 defeat to the similar squad of Wales in a match of the qualifying completion of the 2018 FIFA World Cup that was played in Chisinau, IPN reports.
The guests won owing to the goals scored by Hal Robson-Kanu (80th min.) and Aaron Ramsey (90th+3). Moldova could have scored towards the end of the game, but the ball hit the bar after a kick by Dedov.
“It is hard to comment on such matches, especially because we lost again. The team did its best today,” Moldova manager Igor Dobrovolski told a news conference.
“We opened the score late and had jitters. It wasn’t easy to win in Chisinau,” said the coach of Wales Chris Coleman.
Owing to this success, Wales climbed to the second place in Group D, profiting also from Ireland’s 0-1 defeat to Serbia. Moldova ranks last with only two points. It plays the last encounters of the qualifying rounds against Ireland in Dublin on October 6 and against Austria in Chisinau on October 9.
