Moldova defeat Romania in European Volleyball Championship qualifiers

The men's national volleyball team of Moldova beat Romania's squad 3-2 in the first preliminary round of the 2010 European Volleyball Championship qualifiers on Sunday, May 9, Info-Prim Neo. Though the Moldovan team were not considered favorites, they took the lead winning the first two sets (25-19, 25-19). The guests tied after the next two sets (25-15, 25-19), but Moldova won the decisive set by 15-13. The return game will be played in Romania's Buzau on May 15. The winner of this match will qualify for the next stage of the competition that will also involve teams from Belarus, Italy, and Turkey.
