The Republic of Moldova is set to launch direct flights from Chisinau to destinations in the State of Kuwait. The government has approved the initiation of negotiations on an agreement to establish air transport cooperation between the two countries, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development specifies that the agreement will establish the principles for regulating the operation of bilateral air services. This includes aviation security, tariffs, fees, and certificates of airworthiness and competence. It will regulate the rights for the air transport operations of both parties, as well as the designation and authorization of airlines.
"The signing of the agreement will allow the launch of direct flights from Chisinau to destinations in the State of Kuwait, contributing to the opening of the air services market in Moldova, diversifying the destinations at Chisinau International Airport, increasing passenger traffic, and enhancing competitiveness in the domestic aviation market," the MIRD said.
The institution also mentions that the agreement will bring economic benefits to the country by creating new jobs, providing quality services for consumers, reducing travel time, and fostering mutual tourism development.
